Bluetooth problems often look like device problems: earbuds will not reconnect, a mouse stutters, a keyboard disappears, or the Bluetooth toggle vanishes from Windows. In many cases, the underlying issue is the adapter driver, the software layer that lets Windows communicate with the Bluetooth hardware. Updating that driver is usually straightforward, provided you use reliable sources and make one change at a time.
What a Bluetooth driver update can fix
A driver update may improve stability, correct a compatibility issue, or restore features after a major Windows change. It is especially worth checking when Bluetooth worked previously and has recently become unreliable. However, a driver update cannot repair a damaged adapter, a depleted battery, excessive radio interference, or a device that is out of range.
