Prepare the Computer and Adapter

Pair Devices Correctly

Pairing mode is different from simply turning a device on. Most headphones require holding the power or Bluetooth button until an indicator flashes in a distinct pattern. Keyboards and mice may use a dedicated pairing button or a channel selector. Check the accessory manual if its name does not appear during scanning.

After pairing, select the device as the active output or input where appropriate. On Windows, go to Settings > System > Sound and choose the Bluetooth headphones under Output. Pairing fails or the device keeps reconnecting

Remove the accessory from the computer's saved Bluetooth devices, turn the accessory off and back on, and repeat pairing mode. A headset or keyboard may automatically reconnect to a phone, tablet, or another computer first, preventing a new pairing.

Range is short or audio stutters

Move the adapter into a clearer location with a USB extension cable. Keep it away from Wi-Fi routers, USB 3.0 storage devices, metal enclosures, and dense cable bundles. Reduce the distance, charge the accessory, and update the adapter driver. For desktop use, front-panel ports or a short extension often produce a noticeable improvement.

Security and Everyday Maintenance

Bluetooth is designed for short-range connections, but basic precautions still matter. Pair new devices in a private setting, decline unexpected pairing prompts, and remove devices you no longer use.
